Spring Colours 2024: Tutor’s Top Tones

Interior design colour trends often draw inspiration from the fashion world, reflecting the latest style influences. This year is no different, as Pantone has unveiled its Spring 2024 colour report during London Fashion Week, showcasing a mix of energizing brights and nature-inspired shades.

Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone® Colour Institute, shares her insights on this season’s palette: “Both thoughtfully curated and highly personal, this season’s colours transcend the ordinary, interacting with each other in dynamic ways. Drawn from nostalgic daydreams yet rooted in contemporary modernity, these colours reflect our desire for freedom and authenticity, where personal style has no boundaries.”

Based on these trends, we’ve curated our Tutor’s Top Tones for Spring 2024 and outlined how you can bring these captivating colours into your interior spaces.

Tone 1 – Tarragon Green

PANTONE 15-0326 – Tarragon – “A fresh green infused with notes of citrus, Tarragon displays a delicate piquancy.”

A feature wall in Tarragon Green can instantly revitalize a room, providing a harmonious backdrop for the space. Pairing it with neutral tones like soft whites or earthy beiges enhances the overall balance of the design. If you’re someone who loves bold contrasts, consider experimenting with complementary colours like coral, blush pink, or golden yellows to create a lively and dynamic atmosphere. Tarragon Green also blends beautifully with natural materials—wooden accents, rattan furniture, or woven textiles help create a seamless connection to the outdoors.

Tones 2 & 3 – Sunset Hues (Sun Orange & Spicy Mustard)

PANTONE 14-0952 – Spicy Mustard “Pungent Spicy Mustard is strikingly exotic.”
PANTONE 16-1257- Sun Orange “Sun Orange, an enveloping orange reflective of a brilliant sunset.”

Sun Orange is a vibrant shade perfect for an accent wall to create an energetic feel. For a more subtle touch, incorporate it through décor like throw pillows, statement sofas, or vases. These pops of orange infuse warmth without overpowering the space.

Spicy Mustard, with its rich golden hue, evokes comfort and cosiness, making it an ideal choice for larger furniture pieces or textured elements like rugs and curtains. To add depth and visual interest, combine the two tones—use a neutral base with mustard accents, such as a chair or blanket, paired with orange accessories for a cohesive yet exciting look.

Tone 4 – Lavender Fields

PANTONE 15-1905 – Burnished Lilac –“Burnished Lilac, a tinged and smoky lavender tone with a new sophistication.”

Inspired by blooming lilacs, Lavender Fields brings a touch of elegance and serenity to any room. Consider using it for a focal point, such as painting an accent wall or woodwork in a bathroom to create a tranquil springtime ambiance. Lilac pairs effortlessly with a variety of tones, from muted greens to soft blush pinks or gentle greys, offering plenty of versatility. For an extra layer of sophistication, incorporate metallic accents like gold or brass through mirrors, light fixtures, or decorative accessories—these elements elevate the overall design with a hint of luxury.

These four tones bring together a perfect blend of energizing brights and calming shades, ideal for Spring 2024 interiors. Whether you opt for bold feature walls or subtle touches through soft furnishings and accessories, incorporating any of these top tones will infuse your home with the uplifting energy of the season.
